Tickets to the gun show. BAM.
Love these guys :D …and that one green chick.
Haha these are some of my closest friends. (And she’s green because we were working on a production of The Wizard of Oz and she was the Wicked Witch.)
Today’s grocery haul!
Strawberries, watermelon, carrots, lettuce, spinach, bananas, peaches, nectarines, yogurt, honey maple turkey, broccoli, granola, salad dressing, pita chips…. Yum :)
I also got pickles lol. The sandwich pickles are my FAVORIIITTEEEE. And I got ice cream for my brother. Which ruined my healthy haul but whatever!
On a totally personal note, being a good student in a freaking insane academic programs wreaks havoc on my nerves and increases my anxiety quite a bit. Even during the summer. I can’t sleep right now because I’m stressing about my exams next year.
It’s utterly ridiculous, and yet kind of part and parcel of the program.
I never usually sweat down the front of my shirt. By the time I was finished I was DRENCHED. I feel great :)
I only did an hour of cardio tonight. 30 minutes of elliptical, 30 on the treadmill. It was getting late and my mom wanted to go home so I skipped weights. I’ll add those in tomorrow.
Killed it at the gym tonight. I feel amazing.
One of the things that I dislike about hour-long cardio sessions is the sideways glances I get from people who come and go during my hour, the disparaging “typical teenager on the elliptical” looks. There is NOTHING wrong with exercising on the elliptical. And they don’t stick around long enough to see my forty minutes on the weights (which I might add are higher than what the snooty ones were lifting if I were to be petty about it).
I don’t understand why people are critical of other people’s workouts in the first place. I’m just there to do my thing, trying to be healthy just like you. I subscribe to the “if you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all” philosophy. If you can’t be supportive and encouraging, just keep your negativity to yourself.
This is what we do at my work :D
And decided to go to the gym after work. Although all I had in my system was a single, medium-sized homemade muffin, and I had eaten that five hours before my shift.
I managed about 20 minutes on the elliptical before I ended up just…not being able to do anymore. My legs started giving out. I knew I needed to wise up and get off, and go home and fuel up.
I’m embarrassed though. :/ I need to take better care of my body… And twenty minutes of elliptical pales in comparison to my normal workout :’( I’ll try again later if I have time before my gym closes tonight…
I started off with my usual two-mile run. I was 1.8 miles into it when my foot went COMPLETELY numb. I don’t know if it was because I was locking my knees too much and cutting off circulation, or a problem with my shoe or what. So I stopped, and cooled down a bit. It went back to normal so I went and did some weighted crunches.
My coworker came in and started on the elliptical… And got her locker key stuck in one of the slots. I spent ten minutes helping her dig it out, running back and forth between the childcare room and fitness center to get tweezers to fish it out.
After that ordeal, I did some lat pull downs and leg presses.
When I went to go meet my mom after her Pilates class, she told me that a lady had been taken out of the aerobics room in an ambulance. Dunno what happened, but it would explain why my boss, the director, was running around in a frenzy.
All in all, I’m ready to call it a night.
On a side note, I love my gym. People are friendly and helpful. One guy tonight told me to widen my stance on one of the weight machines. Just little tips- but they help a lot! I couldn’t be happier :)
Shower and watching Sherlock Holmes tonight with my mom and brother. Tomorrow, work, gym, shopping, and dinner with my mom. :)
