
I posted this in response to an ask, but I think this needs to make the reblog rounds, so I’m posting it as a photo.
This is why weight and bmi alone are not good measures of physical fitness and body size/shape/composition.
Weight only tells you how many pounds you’re carrying around. Those pounds could be made of jelly or steel. (Or some sexy concoction of both).
BMI only tells you how many pounds you’re carrying around in relation to your height — again, it says nothing about what your body looks like or is physically capable of doing.
So before you take someone’s height and weight and make assumptions about their size/their shape/their fitness levels/their strength/their body fat percentage — check your self.
Else you are in serious danger of wrecking yourself.
